@ruby I had a script for building emoji packs out of loose files somewhere, but I’d need to find it

@exerian @donutboxers it’s more nuanced than that, it’s true if the instance hasn’t fetched the posts yet, but if another user on the instance already is following you, then said instance already has the posts posted since then and can display them

it's getting cold, so I started running protein folding on my desktop again, and it's stupid how effective those things are at being space heaters, especially the one with a GPU

(space heater that also does some biomedical research :) )

I use folding@home for this https://foldingathome.org but there's also other distributed-computing-for-research projects out there using tools like BOINC https://boinc.berkeley.edu

@spdx_wl @jseakle tbh I wonder if that’s because I literally snatched a random full res image from my hydrus wallpaper file service and uploaded it to akkoma as is lol

@froggebip there’s 2 hard things in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things and off by one errors

and I feel like this might be the case of that first one

@jseakle yeah, seems about right, ppl did tell me that semaphore just straight up eats it. this is how it looks on akkoma-fe

so seems like inline images (this one sent with md ![alt](https://image.url) syntax) work, but according to discord, some frontends will either just eat them completely or display them weird
