oh the word filter is useless huh. just muting vore mutes anything with those four letters in that order in anything, including words like ‘flavored’

@KaydeArcane ahh, the scunthorpe problem. that sucks.

well, i figure it should at least work for # thing??? i guess more reason to consider tagging important. maybe someday i can figure out how to make the word filter a little more effective, or at least easier to use.

and it also just fully obliterates the post without even a mention of why, leaving orphaned replies and such in its wake. once again i find myself missing a really good cohost feature (muffled tags my beloved…)

@tenna @KaydeArcane ish. we found that #test also triggers #testing. so it really depends

@KaydeArcane oh, that’s “fun”

I’ll have to look into the implementation, maybe it happens to be regex, in which case it should be possible to work around the issue

@mae @KaydeArcane @tenna I am 99% sure it doesn't trigger on #testing if you select "match whole word".

@mae @KaydeArcane @tenna Oh weird, okay. It's part of the standard filters API, but I guess Akkoma just doesn't implement it?

@tenna @KaydeArcane yes and no, e.g. filtering #test would still catch #testicles. I’m very sure it would be a simple hack-patch to turn off substring matching globally for now tho, and since around here evading a filter on purpose would actually see moderator action I don’t really see why we’d want it to begin with.
