man i have 64gb of memory why does windows need another 64gb of page file. it doesn't even recommend this, and i can't imagine what the fuck it's doing with that much space. it recs like ten gigs! i could probably get away with less!

conceivably how bad would it be for me to just allocate a 16mb pagefile and just let what happens happen

I’m running arch, and it’s currently using 10 gigs of physical memory plus 4.2 gigs of zram (backed by an additional 1.3GB of physical memory) while running a bunch of software plus compiling things in the background

@adam yeah i feel like there should be a setting in here like "look, just never drop anything to the page file, make a spare swap space in the back half of this ram and point anything that asks to page into that for the rest of time" but they don't ask me when they make operating systems
